Well, this sounded like a great idea, so here I am. As I'm not too comfortable just posting my snail mail addy for anyone to see, if you need it, either comment here with an e-mail addy at which I can reach you, or e-mail me at lawnmowerelf@yahoo.com.

1. Anything off of my Amazon.com wishlist
(new, used, whatever I don't care. As long as it's readable/watchable it's fine with me)
2. Smarties...the chocolate Canadian kind (I've always wanted to try those)
3. Actually, send me anything, from some other sort of geographically limited food to a post card...I just love getting snail mail *bg* (note, food from Tennessee I can get on my own *bg*)
4. A job that doesn't include asking if someone wants fries with that
5. Some LJ paid time or extra icons...(Is it just me, or is everyone asking for this? *g*)
6. Fanfic from any fandom and pairing from the list at the bottom of this entry...go wild and have fun with this one...the stranger the better (I love weird fics *eg*)
7. Wallpapers, icons, or other artsy things with the same pairings (Christmas-themed icons here would be lovely)
8. Rec me a fic from a fandom not included in the list...show me why you like it so much
9. Rec me a book by your favorite author...convince me to read it
10. Finally, have a safe and happy holiday...if you can't do anything else, this last one is enough

The Fandom List:

Actually, not a book - but a series, or two. If you havent' read anything by Laurell K Hamilton, try it. And, then keep trying it. Honestly, the first one is good - the later ones are great. She really improves with characterization as she goes along.

#3, I just need your snail mail address (andyycandy @ yahoo.co.uk)

Have you read a fantastic Sirius/Remus by Cimorene and Wax Jism, called Thing (http://www.waxjism.org/pickle/stories/thing.html)? It's kind of a classic so it may be that you're already familiar with it...

Closer (http://clarity.watchthemfall.nu/closer/).

It's a beautiful story; it made me cry. I think you'd enjoy it even if you aren't a Hanson fan...So please read it!

Try Kage Baker. She's a SF/fantasy author who who has written:

The Company A SF series about a future corparation that has been using time travel to manipulate history for their own gain. The first book is called In the Garden of Iden.

The Anvil of the World A fantasy novel (may be the first in a series) set in a world where a cult is trying to kill its good demi-goddess because she married & had kids with an evil demi-god. It's been a while, and I don't remember much of the plot, but the world is really original and interesting.

She has also written several collections of short stories, the most recent of which is called Mother Aegypt.

enjoy!

This is a StarWars post-Phantom Menace AU fic ObiWan/Qui-Gon (AU because Qui-Gon isn't dead). Do you like Jack/Daniel slash for SG1? Hmm... not on your list... (sorry... I'm a tangent kind of person) because there's some slight similarities (older and younger characters... and others that maybe only I see, and unfortunately for you I am *still* rambling*)

Back to the recommended fic, this fic is wonderfully written and has great plot turns and the like. Some basic knowledge of StarWars is helpful... but the fic is hot in some places and well... its long and it covers a lot of time, but, the nice thing is, the "letters" themselves are fairly short, so you can at least read the first few and see if you are enjoying it or not. Try it... like I said, the individual parts, especially to begin with, are nice and concise and will get you started. (Also, if you do end up reading it and loving it, there is much more beyond it).

(And yes, I realize I am a random person... I was lookign through the wishlists and this was something easy... and we seem to share some interests, so I decided to reply >{;o)
