holiday wishes for someone else...
Dec. 4th, 2004 02:26 pmI'd appreciate your help spreading the word on this. It's appeared in our local paper, but I'd really like to get the word out a bit more. (unfortunately you have to subscribe to the paper to access anything on the site, but I can scan the page in if anyone doubts the validity)
On Thanksgiving Day, a friend of mine was in a car accident. He, his wife, their teenage son and their 3-month old baby were traveling back after the usual holiday-to-do when a big hail storm hit. He lost control of the car and they went off the road. He, his wife and the teenager sustained some injuries, but it was little baby Sean who received the worst of it (he was in proper restraints and such, but as a baby is just too darn fragile). Baby Sean suffered two skull fractures and his brain swelled, and he had to be airlifted almost 2 hours away for treatment.
Thankfully now, a week later - Sean is back home with the family and everyone is on the road to recovery. However, the family has no insurance (something rather common around here unfortunately, in the land of part-time jobs and college kids) to cover their emergency room visits and the hospital stay.
In order to help them out, an account has been established in their name. If you could and/or would be willing to help them out (no amount is too small!), checks can be sent to:
Latah Federal Credit Union
PO Box 9286
912 S Washington St.
Moscow, ID 83843
checks made payable to either Brad or Kelly Prichard.
If you can't send money, but perhaps would be willing to send something else (cards, baby stuff, games, etc...) - let me know, and we can arrange something.
I'd be very appreciative if you guys could help spread the word on this in your journals too. They are a really nice family and I'd love to help them have a wonderful and peaceful holiday season.
