Dec. 1st, 2008 04:39 pmHello everyone! This is my third year participating in the Holiday Wishes community! I'm so excited to participate this year, and even thought we don't have a lot of cash this time around I am going to try to grant some wishes!
Now on to the list:
1. Something, anything nice, a surprise. My husband and I have had an incredibly difficult year, and we were just in a car accident on Thanksgiving Day which destroyed our car. Both my husband and I could use a pick me up right about now.
2. Holiday cards! I love to send and receive.
3. Christmas ornaments for our tree. I have a bit of an ornament obsession. :)
4. This one is unlikely, but a car. Since ours got totaled last week, we have no transportation of our own. We know we will get a settlement for the car, but it won't be much - so we need something we can afford, that is similar to our old car - which was perfect for us. Ideally we need two cars, but beggars can't be choosers!
5. More friends! I am seeking out more friends, real life friends mostly, but e-friends are good too! So if any couples in the greater Cincinnati area is on the lookout for other couples to be friends with, I would love to get to know you!
6. A donation to Toys for Tots or Child's Play.
7. For people to start using re-useable grocery bags instead of plastic, or at least re-using the plastic bags they get from the store for other purposes instead of just throwing them out. We use them as trash bags, kitty litter bags and doggy poo bags.
8. A better job for my husband. He likes what he does but he doesn't love it, and it doesn't quite pay the bills, which is putting a huge strain on us. He's got experience in hospitality, customer service, management... all kinds of stuff.
9. Vintage cook books. Again, I have a bit of an obsession with them! :)
10. Do something nice for someone you don't know. Send love out into the world and it will come back to you.

Date: 2008-12-02 07:05 am (UTC)It's basically a shell with a hole in it and we hang it almost every year on our tree as a ornament. But I am willing to part with it. My nephew made another one and we retired our other one :P
However, it will come in late december I know it sucks but I have to send out my packages in waves :P
I also never use plastic bags anymore always cloth bags.

Date: 2008-12-03 01:31 pm (UTC)Right now I use a home made one I got for xmas last year, and an assortment of ones I've either gotten as promo things or that I bought at the store.
I'm really interested in making some of my own, I have some old curtains that would make amazing grocery bags :)

Date: 2008-12-05 12:55 am (UTC)I also donated to Toys for Tots.
And, though this doesn't count because I've always done it, I always reuse the plastic bags for kitty litter. :)
