lonelyinheaven's wish list!
Dec. 2nd, 2008 02:43 amNow that it's finally December I'm going to start sending out the wishes that I can grant as well as post my own list. I participated in this community a few years ago, but wasn't able to give as much as I would have liked. I'm 20 years old, female, go to college in downtown Chicago, and live and breathe theater.
1. Donations to Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS - I donate what I can to BCEFA (working in a theater where they collect makes it easy for me), and would love it if you all could donate too. http://www.broadwaycares.org/donations/index.cfm
2. Anything heffalump related - I collect heffalumps, both old-school and the more recent Lumpy. I only have several stuffed ones, and since it’s been a few years since the movie came out, Disney doesn’t seem to be making more heffalump products. If anyone still has any Winnie the Pooh fabric with Lumpy on it, even just scraps, I would love you forever if you gave them to me.
3. DVDs - Fraggle Rock seasons 4&5 (only released with the first 3 seasons, which I already have and can’t justify buying again), The L Word seasons 2 and up, any of the Disney classics (Snow White, Aladdin, Lion King, Cinderella, etc. I have some on VHS, but they’ve been well loved and won’t hold up much longer), MASH (I have season 4), Degrassi TNG any season (my guilty pleasure show), any non-adult movie about GLBTQ people, and musicals. Used/burned is preferred, these are all fairly expensive and there are people/things more deserving of you spending money on them than my entertainment wants.
4. Used Nintendo Games. I have a NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, GBA SP, and DS. So basically I can use any non-Wii Nintendo games (if you want, any Wii games would go to my parents who have one). For an idea of what I like, lately I’ve been playing a lot of Dr. Mario and Harvest Moon (Magical Melodies and original DS), and I own every Zelda game except Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, but I'm willing to play anything and would have fun with whatever you send.
5. Wizard of Oz related things - It’s been my favorite movie for as long as I can remember. Clothes, posters, random knick-knacks, the Barbie collection from several years ago, even the Madame Alexander McDonald’s toys would make me smile (I do have this years Dorothy and Tin Man).
6. Sakura Gelly Roll or Micron pens - The simple things often are what help me make it through the day, and having fun pens make school more bearable. I love both of these because they write smoothly and don’t bleed badly. I don’t have a color preference, though purple is my favorite, I just ask that they gelly roll pens aren’t the metallic or glittery types, those aren’t really practical for my uses. Used are fine as long as they still write.
7. Stuffed animals. This sort of relates to #2, but non-heffalumps would be loved as well. I have some “issues”, and as juvenile as it is, stuffed animals are very comforting. Traditional animals as well as things like those plush germs are all good with me. I do ask that these be new due to having a large number of allergies.
8. Starbucks/Caribou Coffee/Dunkin Donuts gift cards. It’s freezing already here in Chicago, and a cup of hot chocolate really goes a long way in keeping me warm while walking to classes and waiting for the bus.
9. Grant other people’s wishes. I’ve been blessed this year, and know that many others were not as fortunate. I’m granting the wishes that I can, but there are many people that need far more than I can give. This list is definitely wants and not needs, so please help those who actually need something first.
10. Drive safely, especially if you are in an area that gets snowy/icy. My mom was in a pretty bad accent last winter due to someone's careless driving in icy conditions, and every day I witness people making risks driving that will only get more dangerous the worse the roads get. Everyone deserves to get home safely and in one piece.

Thanks so much!
