holidaywishesHappy holidays everyone! My name is Katherine, and I'm a 20 year old college student splitting time between Washington DC and New Jersey. I'm a domestic government major with a serious side of ballroom dancing. My list:
1. Nail polish -- any color, full or partially used bottles, no matter how wacky. I can only get away with vibrant nail polish for so much longer and I plan to take advantage of every second. They're red glitter right now.
2. Christmas Cards (or snail mail) -- I love getting mail, especially Christmas cards. Last year I asked people to tell me what they did that day in their card, and I enjoyed reading the notes I got. If you would like to tell me what you did that day in your card, I would love it.
3. Brightly colored pens -- I color code my class notes by day of the week using porous point or felt-tip colored pens. I pretty much just love bright pens.
4. A Ballroom Dance Skirt -- I'm an amateur collegiate ballroom dancer. If you are involved in ballroom you know, dance gear is very very expensive. I have one standard skirt that I bought right after I started dancing, but the skirt is too long. I would really like either the Long Gore Skirt, size XL or L, in Purple, Royal Blue, or Hunter Green, available at On Stage Dancewear or S1 or S17 in L in any color from Dance America. I also like the Latin Skirts S2 and SES4 from Dance America.
5. A Ballroom Dance Top -- Same thing again. Dancewear is expensive, and I've been wearing a tshirt from H&M to my competitions. I'm deeply in love with T19, T6, TES1, and TES2 all in L from Dance America.
6. Historical Fiction Novels -- Any era, any author. I'll read anything you have lying around that you don't want.
7. Christmas Ornaments -- this is my first year with my own tree! Unfortunately, I don't have any ornaments other than a box of christmas balls I bought from Target. I'll take any ornaments you have and don't like, or don't have room for.
8. Earrings -- I love jewelry, especially earrings. I have a tendency, however, to lose one earring of my favorite pair! I love costume jewelry earrings of every variety.
9. Paperback romance novels -- everyone needs a good giggle once in a while, and I've been through the entire section at my local library. I know some of you have them, I don't care if they are used, and I don't care how terrible they are. The ones that are the most badly written are often the funniest.
10. Please give money, food, or time to a local food bank this Christmas -- With the economy as it is, more and more families have to depend on a local food bank run out of a church basement or a storefront to get enough groceries to feed themselves. Where I live, Thanksgiving food giveaways were swamped. Next week, next month, the person at that food bank could be you.
