[identity profile] altogetherisi.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] holidaywishes

Hi guys! I’m Isi, an 18 year old girl from Oxford, England, and while I’ve been lurking around and asking for a couple of addresses to fulfill other people’s wishes, this is the first time I’ve posted a wishlist myself.

I don’t allow myself to get too Christmas-sy until December, but now the festive lights have been switched on, the advent calendar has been started and the Christmas cards have been bought, so I figure it’s also time for me to post my wishlist.

I really like the idea of this community; everyone benefits from the spreading of good will and this highlights how giving cards and gifts can be just as good or even better than receiving them.

 My Wishlist:

1.      Lipstick. I would love some new colours of lipstick-- I have very pale skin and very dark hair, and would particularly like dark red, black or purple.

2.      Socks. "I see myself holding a pair of thick, woolen socks…One can never have enough socks," said Dumbledore. "Another Christmas has come and gone and I didn't get a pair. People will insist on giving me books." I have poor circulation, so keeping my feet warm is important. A really thick pair of socks would just make me feel so warm and so happy!

3.      Badge making supplies I make badges [I think the are called buttons in the US] to liven up my pencil case and school bag with my classic Badge It, so to be able to keep doing this I would greatly appreciate refill packs, availiable here: http://www.bandai.co.uk/product-details-page.aspx?CI_ID=33&Source=Google&gclid=CJmG8bWJi5cCFUwb3godQk2mDA

4.      DVDs (region 2). Burnt is totally fine, but needs to play in my region 2 DVD player. I would particularly like to see early episodes/seasons of Buffy, any episodes/seasons of Dark Angel, episodes/seasons of Charmed (preferably with Cole) and Scrubs post season 3.

5.      Photoshop. I learnt how to use Photoshop during a computer graphics class at a school that had it on every computer. Then I moved school, and since I also don’t have it at home I now don’t have access to it anywhere. If anyone could give me a copy that would be amazing and I would love you.

6.      Jewellery. I wear necklaces all the time, but I only have one that is real silver; the rest are either steel or plastic. The only reason I would get any would be if, God forbid, someone dies, but if you have a piece that someone gave you that isn’t really your style or never gets worn I would absolutely adore and treasure it.

7.      Memory for my computer. My poor computer has less than 300Mb of space left, and my largeset USB memory stick is less than 1Gb. I realise that additional or portable memory can be expensive, but if you’ve recently upgraded and have any USB sticks of more than 1Gb that you don’t need anymore I would be so so grateful for them!

8.      A new LJ layout. My LJ is a free basic account and looks boring. I would really love it if someone computer literate would help me make it pretty and exciting!

9.      Pause. This time of year can get very stressful, and sometimes the spirit of giving and goodwill can get lost in the rush, expectations and peer pressure. Just take a couple of minutes, a couple of hours, for you to pause and recover. Get a good night’s sleep. Look out at the world around you. Spare some time to sit quietly on your own. Breathe.

10.  A surprise. Traditionally, I hate surprises. And also having parties. A couple of weeks ago I had a surprise birthday party- it was very fun and it helped me learn to love both again!

Hope everyone has a great festive season!

Uploading now :) You should be on your way in about 20 min.

Do you need or want any brushes? I have an ungodly sized file that I saved with all of my brushes that I could get to you in a few days.

Hi there,
I also had a problem with my computer not having much memory left. May I ask if yours is showing as full when you don't have much saved on it or if it is actually full with programmes etc?

Mine was the former and despite getting rid of anything I didn't use, it wasn't freeing up much, but I was told a way of deleting a big old chunk of crap that I didn't need to keep. Basically it deletes all of the automatically saved restore points that your computer has saved over the months/years and it freed up a load of room for me. I was at a single figure percent of free space, and now I have 30% free space.
If your computer is ok and you don't mind setting your earliest restore point to the present time then it's a neat trick and only takes a few clicks of a mouse in your menu thingy.

Let me know if you think it would help and I'll tell you what I did.

Happy holidays x
