Happy Holidays :)
Dec. 2nd, 2008 10:00 pmHello; I'm Ashlee, I'm seventeen years old, and I live in the US. My twin sister and I have been participating in this community for three years now, and this is definitely one of my favorite things about the holiday season. Being able to send gifts, touch lives, and connect with complete strangers is such a wonderful thing, especially in these tough times. Anyway...
1. First of all, HELP THOSE IN NEED. Seriously, I can't stress this enough. Every little bit helps and can make a different in the lives of those less fortunate than you.
2. FOREIGN SNACKS & TREATS. Especially candies and other goodies :) Anything would be absolutely awesome. Size and amount do not matter. The only flavors I don't like are black licorice and coffee, but I'm not picky.
3. JEWELRY. Again, anything here. That tacky necklace that you hate, a bracelet that you don't wear, that vintage ring in the bottom of your jewelry box... you get the idea. I have a new-found love for pretty much ALL vintage jewelry, lockets, rings, etc.
4. This sort of goes with #3, but BEADS AND CHARMS. Have ugly/old/mismatched/unwanted/extra beads, keys, charms, lockets, etc. lying around that you don't want? Anything would be really great. I love beading and making jewelry. I've found that it is the things that I don't buy in stores that always end up coming out the best. Someone last year sent me a container of really pretty beads and it was probably my overall favorite Christmas present (and I'm still using them)!
5. STICKERS of any size/shape/color/type. I used to have a ton, but I used about 3/4 of my stash while making a birthday card for one of my friends recently. I love them.
6. CARDS. I love getting (and sending) Christmas cards. They're especially cool if they're handmade (even if you write or draw like a five-year-old.) Express yourself!
7. SECRETS. It seems like everyone is asking for these this year, but what can I say? I guess I'm a follower. I really admire PostSecret and I would love to receive secrets from you: long, short, artistic, written on a scrap of paper; it doesn't matter. Sometimes it's nice to share things with people, even if they're complete strangers. I can keep your secrets for you.
8. SURPRISE ME. Artwork, photographs, buttons, pins, books, magnets, scraps of fabric, stationery, mix CDs... you get it. My favorite color is green, if that helps at all.
I never seem to be able to come up with a 9 or 10, hah. If there's anything on my list you think you can help me out with, please email me for my address! Happy Holidays, everyone :)
