Dec. 6th, 2008 01:50 amHiya, I just remembered about this group and am going to spend tonight making some wishes come true! Last year I posted about collecting origami paper cranes based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thousand_origami_cranes and someone kindly sent me some. I can't make them for some reason- I can't even do origami which has the lines printed on it! Someone very kindly sent some to me which made my day (I still have them in their pretty little bag)- thank you!
These are my wishes
1) Post-I have health problems and so don't have much of a social life or get out as much as most people do which means I appreciate any type of post! This POBOX address is re-directed to my house PO Box 278,Leatherhead,Surrey, KT23 4WN, England
2) Post to a seriously ill child- I run Post Pals which is based on how I found post helped me cope with my illness, we feature seriously ill children- most have cancer or are going through transplants and invite members of the public to send a card, letter, gift or email to brighten the child's day. The site is www.postpals.co.uk
3)Oragami cranes
4)Guestbook messages for Jane- her daughter Casie passed away aged 19 from leukemia, although her website isn't updated by her Mum (Jane) she still reads the guestbook and likes to know people have logged on and Casie isn't forgotten. You could just say your thinking of her, or have just found the site etc, it doesn't have to be long but would mean a lot to her. http://www.caringbridge.org/fl/casie/index.htm
5)Ok long shot this one but a donation how ever small to www.postpals.co.uk would be wonderful! With 50p ($1) we can post a smile on a sick child's face. Our paypal addy is info@postpals.co.uk you can read about us on the BBC here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/southern_counties/3673782.stm
6)Another very long shot but I would love to collect serenity angels http://www.flyingcloudgifts.com/product.cfm?cid=71&startrow=126 except they don't sell them in the UK. My favourite are the tiny ones/pins (and they are the cheapest!), I have "you are my sunshine" and the one with a cat in it.
Thank you!!!
Have a wonderful and magical Christmas
