Wishlist 2008! Happy Holidays to all!

Hi, everyone! This is my second year of participating, and again I must say that I love all the positivity, cheer, and light in this concept and community. I'm having a wonderful time reading everyone's lists, looking for wishes I could grant, and contacting the wishers. It's a great feeling. Can't wait to start sending out my little gifts!

Here's my own wishlist:

WISHLIST 2008

01. Good health, good fortune, happiness, success, and long life for me, my family, and our small family-owned business .

02. To pass the Bar Exam. Prayers/good vibes/positive energy/wishes/thoughts sent my way are greatly needed and appreciated.

03. A PayPal donation, of any amount, to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). It's an animal shelter and adoption center for homeless dogs and cats. I have a soft spot for animals, so I'd really like to help this small but noble organization. The PayPal button can be found on the right side of the PAWS website: http://www.paws.org.ph/

04. Blank notebooks. I collect blank notebooks. Ruled or non-ruled, spiralbound or bookbound, small or big, thick or thin, all colors and all kinds of covers!

05. Pens with black ink. A local brand from your country would be really cool. Doesn't have to be a pricey or well-known brand, as long as the pen works! I write in black ink and I love writing anything -- schedules, story ideas, purchases, gift lists, you name it -- so rest assured that your gift will be getting a lot of use.

06. Visitors to my fledgling makeup blog. It's relatively new compared to most blogs of the same kind, so I'd appreciate visitors, linkbacks, etc. Here's the URL: http://madaboutmakeup.blogspot.com/

07. Bubble wrap. Seriously. If you have any lying around that you don't need or are thinking of throwing away, do throw them my way! It would help me cut costs. I have a small side business and I need bubble wrap for the items I ship.

08. Text icons with "INTJ" on them. That's my Myers-Briggs type. No preference as to the color of the background or base, I leave that up to your aesthetic sense!

09. Do something for the environment. And let me know what you did. There's only one earth; let's help save it.

10. Random acts of kindness. Brighten someone's day. Do something nice for a stranger or someone you don't know very well, then tell me about it! I'd love to hear your story.

I also agree we have to do things for the enviroment.

I drive a hybrid, I recycle, I don't use palstic shopping bags. I do little things but they add up :)

As for wish # 10

Every year I do this as a way to pass it on when some kind stranger gave me and my family a gift two years ago. Since than I pay it forward.

Kind Stranger - Go to a store or mall and buy a toy, dvd, book anything you like BUT DON'T GIFT WRAP IT!

After attach with tape this note:

Dear Stranger,
This is a gift from our family to yours.
In a time of war and so much hate
we wanted to do something loving
and helpful for a few strangers.
We hope this will brighten up your holidays.
You and your family can keep it and enjoy the gift or you can re-wrap it and give it away.
All we ask is that you pay
this kindness forward do something nice
for a stranger and ask him or her
to pay it forward as well.

If you are going to give it to a little child/teen/someone in few view of his/her parents in the mall or at your local store. Make sure you say "Happy Holidays to my family to yours." I assure you this will brighten the child and his/her parents.

That's a beautiful letter/note. I'm sure the recipient would appreciate it very much. The stranger who gave you the gift might never know that you're paying it forward, but if he did, I'm certain he'd be very happy. You're honoring his kindness by doing the same thing for others, and that's really the best thanks one can get.

It's so nice to hear about the things you're doing for the environment. I'm glad there are people out there who care. When I go to the ladies' room, I use the hand dryer instead of using tissue, I recycle packaging, and I try to find a home for the things I don't need or use anymore, instead of throwing them away.

Great idea about the shopping bag, I'll do that. :)

Good luck with the bar exam!!! I'm applying for grad school, so I know how nerve-wracking such tests can be!! Rest up, study hard, and relax. I'm sure you'll do great.

I have bubble wrap. My sister just bought herself a few things and well she just wanted the throw away the bubble wrap. But I cannot do it I pop the stuff :P

I will send it to you if you want the extras. it's not new but it's bubble wrap. I will send it to you as soon as I can.
