My little wishes
Dec. 7th, 2008 05:55 pmHello all!
I hope everyone is having a fantastic Holiday season thus far. I've done this community for the past 3 years but, almost decided against it this year due to time and budget constraints. Then I decided I enjoy it too much to quit. My brief Bio: I'm 26 and live in Duluth, Minnesota with my partner and my younger sister whom we have legal guardianship of during the school year. The three of us share our house with seven cats and one dog who are all spoiled senseless. I love vintage video games, fantasy novels, interior decorating, gardening, music and a smattering of other things both interesting and boring.
1. Donate to a charity, any charity of your choice will do. I try to give to charity year round but I know it's easiest to convince people to do it when they're in the "Holiday Spirit". If you don't have one you particularly favor, I'd appreciate your donation go to Animal Allies in Duluth, MN. It's my local animal shelter and they could use all the help they can get.
2. Lego greenery. Trees, bushes, flowers or anything of the sort. I only have a few lonely flowers to go with my lego creations and I'd really like a few more.
3. Items or gold or anything for Gaiaonline the three people in my house all enjoy the site, so anything would be appreciated. I'm ashenfairy over there as well.
4. Green tea flavored candy. I love green tea pocky or kitkats and almost never get a hold of them but, I'd be happy to try other sweetened green tea candies as well.
5. Plastic Bangles for my sister. For whatever reason she really like them right now and they are one of those things a lot people end up with and they're not sure why. I think any color would be fabulous but, she really likes green.
6. Tell someone how much you care about them. Be it your family or your significant other or your best friend. Everyone likes to be told that they're loved and important and sometimes they really need it.
7. Costume jewelry pins. I like silly old pins and they're another one of those things a lot of people have but they're not really sure why. So any spares would be well loved here.
8.People to buy my stuff. I'm not posting a link because I don't intended this as a big advertisement but, I sell bits of vintage geekery we have an overstock of (RPG manuals, anime, action figures, etc) to bring extra income into the house. I currently have a lot more stuff than I have buyers and it's slowly eating my office area. So I'd be happy if I could make a bit of extra cash and have more space. If you might be interested or know someone else who might be I'll email you the link to my shop.
9. For people to purchase the media they enjoy instead of downloading/copying/streaming. I'm often super broke so I understand the temptation to download/stream/buy a cheap bootleg copy of your favorite movies, TV shows, or games. I'm not counting things out of print or otherwise unavailable in your home country. I've watched and have hard drive space devoted to plenty of things that are not currently and probably never well be released in the US. But, if it's something you can purchase please do so if you're able. Dozens of people work on getting those things made for your enjoyment and if you really love it don't you want to see the original creator rewarded for a job well done? To clarify I do not work in one of these fields nor does my immediate family. I have no direct interest other than to see people compensated for their work.
10. For everyone to try to be more understanding of everyone else. That's ambiguous but, if everyone tried just a little harder to understand where someone else was coming from I think we'd all be a little happier.
