Dec. 11th, 2008 02:42 pmSo, my wife has been doing this for a couple of years, while I’ve restrained my lists to my flist. Apparently, I need to expand my horizons.
1) A brass telescope/spy glass
2) Old maps – the older the better, all manner of maps, but I’d rather have nautical or military maps or topographical maps than state road maps.
3) A brass compass
4) A zeppelin.
5) A newer car. This is actually something of a sticking point – I want something compact and fuel efficient; my wife wants something we can go camping in. Currently we’re driving from fill up to fill up, and hoping the car won’t die while the tank is full.
6) A Pentax k100d – this is actually not for me. My wife wants one, but won’t let me buy it for her.
7) Historical presidential campaign buttons
8) Military personnel willing to take a short questionnaire about living on base – especially bases with family quarters. I’m writing my dissertation on the experience of living on base overseas.
9) Cat toys for a cat who likes to chew on things so he won’t chew on the blinds anymore.
10) Postcards from exotic locales
My address is:
Mike Timonin
Addenda: while I seem to be helping with shipping on a bunch of other packages, as well as providing mix CDs, perhaps, if you want a Christmas card, and/or a package of seeds (my house is overrun with little packages of seeds!), let me know.
