Dec. 11th, 2008 05:48 pmmy girlfriend has been doing this for the past several years and i figured i'd give it a shot. i've seen her mail off things to people that were just taking up space and recieve the most sincere of thank you notes as well as get some of the most grand things through the mail because of this.
1. a trench coat. i walk to work ever since my car broke down. whether it's rain or shine, i layer up in clothes and walk about 2 hours there and 2 hours home on the nights i can't convince a co-worker to take me home. i lost my trench coat last year and it was the warmest piece of clothing i ever owned and i miss it dearly during these cold winter times.
2. toys, clothing, books, or anything to help with a newborn. we recently found out that my girlfriend of the past 3 and a half years is pregnant for the first time. we have plenty of people to go to for advice but when it comes to everything else, we're going to be struggling. i work at Wendys and she's currently unemployed but we're going to try to make the best of it.
3. musical equipment or books on how to help make music. i've been toying with guitars since i was 8 and playing with keyboards for the past 2 years. yet, i don't make enough money to go out and buy anything. the 2 guitars i have now (one acoustic and one electric) were both hand-me-downs from friends and are slowly beginning not to work. my electric makes me feel a little punk rock because sometimes you have to beat on it before you can hear it through the amp. lol. i've been wanting a synth for years but can't afford one at all. i also need strings. mostly the bottom E because it's always the first to go and it rarely lasts more than a week after restringing my guitar. you can check out some things i've made by myself here or some things i've made with some buddies of mine here.
4. band stickers and patches. i love music. almost every kind. check my last fm for my main musical tastes. you can find it here
5. notebooks/pens/pencils. with writing lyrics down, i go through notebooks left and right. i'm slowly running out of paper. i'd be nice to have a few extra just laying aside for when the day comes that i have something in my head and have no paper to write it on.
6. computer parts or a whole computer. i'm currently running on 320mbs of RAM, with no disk drives, and alot of problems. i got it from a friend because the power supply was broke. i fixed most of it but the rest is pretty much unfixable.
7. dvds/vhs. my girlfriend and i love nothing more than to sit down and watch movies together. we have lots of dvds and vhs but we've already seen most of them. we had netflix and blockbuster online for months and we'd just burn them and send them back.
8. cat stuff. i love cats. mine recently ran away and i'm about to go get another one to get attached to. i should be getting a new one in the next week.
9. legos. legos are something that carried over with me since i was little. but i seem to have lost every single one i had. i used to make working concert stages and airships out of them and had two full recycling bins of legos.
10. batman stuff. i love batman. always have, always will. but between moving 4 times in the past years, i seem to have lost most of my batman memoribila. anything will do from a comic to a toy. i just love batman.
i don't have internet access at the moment, so, my girlfriend will most likely be the one responding but she'll be telling me everything that's posted. if you need to get in contact with her her email is xchosenreject AT gmail DOT com, her LJ is

Date: 2008-12-20 11:08 pm (UTC)and at the moment off your list i'm already planning to do one or two. the first one being adopt a cat because mine ran away while i was living with a friend of mine because i had to make him an outside cat for the month i was there since my friend's father was allergic to cats. i may be able to get you some of the ramen as well. my girlfriend says that they sell it at the wal-mart here. so, i'll go check when i get paid next, which is on the 27th.
once again, thank you
