Hi everybody! I hope you're having as much fun this Christmas as I am. :)
I'm Lova, I'm 27 years old, I'm from Sweden and this is my first time participating in this comm; I only just found it. It seems like a lot of fun and I can't wait to read through people's wish lists to see which wishes I can grant. As you probably can tell from the themes below I'm a bellydancer, a writer and a chinchilla owner. XD

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask! :3

1. I love icons, so if the inspiration hits you I would be extremely happy for any icons with the following themes: Slytherin, Bellydancing, Chinchilla, Vintage Photography, Snakes, Writing. Bonus if the icon includes my name(Lova)!

2. Oh, and this is sort of expensive, but here goes nothing: I would like to try any perfume from the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab and last time I checked they didn't ship to Sweden.

3. Bellydancing stuff! Be it postcards, videos, pictures, or maybe costume parts or other materials I would be incredibly happy. :)

4. A postcard from your part of the world. It doesn't have to be a Christmas Card per say, just something typical from your region would be fantastic! :D

5. I love slash, so any recommendation to books with gay couples will be greatly appreciated! :D

6. Share a local folklore, myth or legend from your part of the world! I live for folklore, especially the dark kinds, and it would make me very happy! ^ ^

7. I read a lot of horror literature (my favorites Stephen King, Lovecraft, Clive Barker etc), and I would absolutely love any recommendations for good horror authors you might have! If you're feeling particularly generous you can always send me a used book or something, but I'll be very happy with recs too! ;) Big ol' monsters' a plus!

8. I love pens, journals and notebooks, so anything like that would be awesome! I'll be very grateful for recs as well! :)

9. Again, if you feel generous, some local candy are always fantastic! Hee..! ^ ^

10 Lastly, I want you to have a wonderful Christmas. Nothing quite makes me so happy as hearing that people are happy. ♥

Just drop me a line at seven.sinsualities@gmail.com if you'd like my address. Happy Holidays everyone! :)

That's the closest folklore story nearby where I live. There is also the story of the mothman that you can read about here:

For horror and literature well you've already named Steven King and Clive Barker... *thinks* hmm... ah! You should look into Peter Straub. Shadowland is a great book.

No problem! Well I'm not sure if it originates here, it's always fascinating that one story can be translated all over. It's from the dismal swamp area, which is about 30-45 minutes from where I am. It's the closest folklore story around my area that I know of lol

Oh well... there is Colonial Williamsburg, they have a bunch of stories, I'll try and search for those and send them your way when I get home from work! :D

Cryptozoology is pretty neat! I always get spooked when I see a t.v. show about it (like the jersey devil, etc.) yeah I wonder what kind of creature the mothman is.. they made a movie about it a few years back.

#5 - Slashy books, let's see what I have in my shelf I'd recommend.. Many of these aren't exactly focusing on gay couples but are still good stuff, ranging for the hinted to the hot damn!-territory.

Michael Chabon: Mysteries of Pittsburgh, Wonder Boys and Michael Cunningham: Home at the end of the world
Try Steve McVicker: I Love You Phillip Morris for "a true story of life, love and prison breaks", Poppy Z. Brite: Drawing Blood, Lost Souls, Christopher Rice: A Density of souls and Johanna Sinisalo: Troll - a love story (aka Bara sedan solen sjunkit in Swedish) for supernatural (vampires, ghosts, trolls, hotness). E.M. Forster: Maurice has historical setting.

This is a really popular story in my area. No one ever knew who he really was, so there's a lot of mystery surrounding the whole thing.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leatherman_(vagabond)

This one isn't as exciting, but it's still a big deal here. Kids are always going to try and find the boulders where they're supposed to be buried under. I myself did it when I was younger... it was pretty spooky!

This one you might have heard already, but it's it's important to my area so I'm including it.

There are a ton of other ghost stories/Revolutionary War folklore surrounding my area, but I couldn't find any good tellings of them... if I do I'll be sure to let you know!

I'd definitely try books by Poppy Z Brite if you haven't already, the earlier one are more horror based, the latter are about a couple who are chefs, in all her books the main characters are gay men.
