My Cheapo Wishlist
Dec. 14th, 2008 04:07 amI've been having fun trying to do some of the cheaper wishes on the community so my wishlist is based on the kind of wishes I've been able to fill. I took part in 2006 and I've pretty much used the same one as I had such good luck with it last time :) I'm in London UK, 33 and pretty much music and book obsessed.
1. LJ friends with who I might have common interests. Add me and leave a comment to let know what you think we both like (anything at all I don't really mind!)
2. Book recommendations (or the books themselves but I'm not that hopeful!) I got some really great ones last time so let me know what you think I need to read ( here's a part list of those I own), am a fan of Neil Gaiman, Poppy Z Brite, Bill Bryson, Jane Austen, Martin Millar, to maybe give you a clue what I'm into.
3. Ebooks - if anyone has any ebooks of anything I might like /have in paper form that would be great. I love being able to read on my phone, never without a book that way.
4. Band recommendations with what you think is their best
song for me to start with (I'm into stuff like My Chemical Romance, Senseless Things, Less Than Jake, The Wonder Stuff, Jack Off Jill, Nine Inch Nails, Scarling- no pop, dance, rap etc please)or mix cds through the post or just a link.
4. New Icons - any to do with something listed on my interests on my profile page
5. I went back to being Vegan this year and I'm having major trouble finding easy recipes that don't call for specialist ingredients so I'd love simple vegan recipes that people use all the time.
6. Any recommendations for LJ communities you think I might enjoy.
4. TV/Movie recommendations - I love the Gilmore Girls, Law & Order, Dexter, Xena, Gilda, Gone With The Wind, A Matter Of Life & Death, Hellraiser, Nightbreed, Blast From The Past. Anything a little obscure or older I might have missed.
8. A link to a decent printable picture of Margaret Lockwood in The Wicked Lady.
9. Snailmail - I dread the postman turning up, it would be so nice to look forward to it, xmas cards, letters, newspaper clippings anything at all!
10. Try to have a great Xmas no matter where you are or who you're with!

Anyway, I have a website (http://www.angelsparrow.com). Drop me an e-mail, asparrow at angelsparrow.com, and tell me which book you'd like a copy of.

Date: 2008-12-14 05:39 pm (UTC)I think we might have stuff in common to be LJ friends too. I love LTJ. You should check out Biffy Clyro. Scottish band, their latest album puzzle is awesome but older albums are fab too.
I am a Law and Order fan but love SVU the most followed by Criminal Intent (cos the guy is so odd). Dexter was an awesome series - saw whole of first and haven't got round to watching the 2nd yet.

Date: 2008-12-14 06:42 pm (UTC)If nothing else the icon would have had me convinced, Calvin & Hobbes should be counted as classics!
I love all the L&O, Dexter second season was excellent, didn't lose it at all, which surprised me as the second book I felt was truly awful.
I have to admit though, I'm not a fan of Biffy Clyro but that is just based on 2 singles I've heard.

Have you read any of Connie Willis's work? I think you'd like Doomsday Book and Passage. I have several folks on my flist who have similar reading tastes, so surf over and friend me if you think we'd get on. Also check out the 50bookchallenge comm on LJ for great reading ideas.
For music, try out I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Massive Attack, Delerium, TV on the Radio, and Underworld. Also check out my friend shotfromthehip on LJ...he does a daily listening log and has excellent taste.
