Dec. 16th, 2008 02:24 pmOne one hand, time has flown by, but on the other, the weather makes time drag on and on... It's my first year living in the U.S. since moving to Canada about 12 years ago (but I come back for the holidays). Oh yes, introductions... I'm Jane. I live in a frozen tundra in mid-western New York. I'm 29 years old, and I make my nest in a Christmas box (oh wait, that last bit was the snap-dragon-fly in Alice Through the Looking-Glass. Appropriate, though ;) Anyhow, I think I would like to stick with simple-yet-creative this year :)
1) Music: uploaded or mix-tape/mix-cd version, but it must come with the written/typed playlist. It can be music of your choosing, or if you would like, my tastes include (but are certainly not limited to: Johnny Hollow, Miss Derringer, Babet, Lucent Dossier, Dr. Steel, Dionysos, Emilie Autumn, Abney Park, and oh so much more...
2. Links to something that inspires you to be artistic, crafty, or even inspires you to clean and organize- which I so desperately need.
3. Lord of the Flies: It's my favourite book. I have several copies of it, each more beat up than the next. I'll gladly take any condition. I do especially like ones that have been marked up a bit and are well-read (I like seeing underlines and highlights to see what passages and sentences other people value).
4. Steampunk: Anything even remotely steampunk. Gears, cogs, wind-up keys, brass buttons, goggles, lace, straps, clothing... it's all good :)
5. Handmade things: anything from a card to your own stationary design, to a stuffed toy, or a pin.
6. Offensives: I've gotten more than one holiday card with offensive-yet-hilarious material written on the inside underneath the generic happy note the card came with. I'd like to see what you can come up with in that respect (maybe respect is the wrong word here ;). But keep it on the inside. My mom sees those envelopes.
7. Participation in my Letter Project. All "rules" and whatnot are at the link.
8. Selflessness: Do something completely selfless.
9. Selfishness: Do something completely selfish.
10. Something: a postcard, a letter, a story, a drawing, a crafty thing, or a combination of any/all of the aforementioned. Or candy, or scribbles, or lace, or pressed flowers, or fake flowers, or jars, or toys, or locks, or butterfly wings, or jewelry, or bows, or anything. ANYTHING (except mail bombs).
And if you haven't skipped down to the next entry yet, thanks for reading this far :)

And, dear mods, I shall tag once I get listed (*crosses fingers*).
Peace!

Date: 2008-12-21 01:44 am (UTC)And by "can't" I mean "can" because I know all too well how busy it gets 'round the holidays... I was actually unable to deliver many, many things last year because of all the rush (and too much snow didn't help either) >_
