Greetings and Salutations!
Dec. 16th, 2008 05:28 pmI'm so happy this community exists! This is my first year with this community. I'm 24 years old and live with my husband and our cats. We recently found out that we're going to have a baby. While life is a bit unorganized right now, this feels like a great time to be blessed with another new chapter to our family. Just a note: when I posted my list in my personal journal, I left out the pregnancy info, because most of our friends & family don't know yet. I didn't think I'd have to do that here, so I added my other two wishes that don't appear in my journal. If friends come over here and read it, then, well... now they know! ;)
1. A thought or a prayer for everyone. It doesn't matter if we're rich or poor, there's always something sacred or comforting missing from someone's life. I really hope that everyone realizes that they're loved, that nothing is so bad that life cannot be salvaged, and there will always be something to be thankful for, even when we can't see it.
2. Cloth diapers. I think I'm mainly going with the old-fashioned one-size-fits-all idea, but I'm willing to try out any kind of cloth diaper. Or if you have unused disposables I'm okay with taking those off your hands, too!
3. Any other baby-related clothing, bedding, etc. you're looking to pass on. We don't know the gender yet, but I'm not beyond dressing a little girl in blue or vice versa, lol.
4. Kitchen dinnerware. When Nic and I first got our house last year we bought these dishes from Target, and we love them! We were only able to get two bowls and a few dinner plates, and now we cannot find them. The colors go with favored long-term house colors, so we'd be using these dishes for a long time to come.
5. Cat litter! We have three cats (soon to be two, whine) and the cost of litter adds up very fast! We're very fond of Tidy Cats Scoop with Tidylock. It's the litter with the light blue packaging.
6. Sewing machine. My sewing skills are very modest, but I've been wanting to improve on them for a long time. I don't care about having anything fancy, just a machine that will help me get some projects done and enhance on a skill.
7. Sewing materials. Thread, needles, unwanted fabric, patterns... Whatever you have laying around that isn't going to be missed or used!
8. Paid livejournal account. I've been wanting to do this for years. I'm a LJ loyalist but can never justify showing my account that extra bit of love, haha.
9. Ink cartridges for our HP Photosmart C4385 printer. I photocopied my cat sitting on it and majorly depleted the black ink cartridge. I don't deserve another one. :-P
10. Kitchenaid mixer... My husband has a major appliance-crush on this thing.

Be careful with the kitty litter. I believe there are risks with that for pregnant women.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope 2009 brings you all that you wish, including a healthy, happy baby!

Date: 2008-12-17 06:07 pm (UTC)I'd do more but we're very financially tight. So I'm browsing through here daily to see what I can do for people that doesn't require a monetary amount. Believe me though when I say if I could I would. I LOVE giving and wish I had the means to do more.
congrats on your pregnancy! It's so exciting! I'd pass on my old clothes but hubby and I are talking of trying again before long and just incase we have another girl I'll need them hehe.
Happy Holidays!
