About myself: My name is Becki. I'm 24. I took a huge risk/chance last month and moved out of state with my boyfriend for his job. I really thought I'd find a job by now... but no luck :/ So with Christmas JUST around the corner, I'm not really too excited about it.

1. New friends. Real, close friends. I want to REALLY get to know people, and for them to want to really get to know me in return. I'd love to actually MEET people in this area [Bowling Green, KY] - I moved here not too long ago and I don't know ANYONE. LJ friends are always great. I always keep up with my friends, and look forward to comments. Possibly future penpals - it's my favorite hobby and I've been doing it for years, I just can't afford stamps right now :(

2. Stamps so that I can mail my replies to my penpals.

3. A job... not that you guys can help me with that, but I've been trying SO hard to find one here and I haven't had any luck at all. It's stressful and frustrating. Interview tips? Good thoughts maybe?

4. I can't believe that I'm writing this, but money - $1 or even less [it's not for me]... Something that's been sitting in your paypal account that you forgot about maybe? I only have enough money to pay my bills for next month. My boyfriends birthday is Sunday and I can't even take him out to dinner, let alone get anyone anything for Christmas. [My paypal: beckigurl7@yahoo.com]

5. Mail - anything. A card, a little note, a mix of your favorite songs, something you drew or made. I love getting mail that isn't junk or bills.

6. Recipes that you love! - I've been cooking a lot lately [what else do I have to do? Ha]. Anything that isn't really spicy, and doesn't include seafood. I'm trying to lose weight, so healthy recipes would be great [but ANY will do!] :)

7. Links to legit sites that you've made money from [doing surveys, clicking links, etc]. Give me your referral link, so I can help you too :) Like I said, no luck finding a job yet, and I'm really doing everything I can to make money.

8. Some personalized icons?

9. I don't really have ten things that I want/need. I'm going back through to see if I can grant more wishes.. but if you have something you want that doesn't cost money - let me know, and I'll do all that I can.

10. Tell your friends and family how much they mean to you. Like I said, I won't be making it home this year. If you're spending your holidays with the ones you love - you are very lucky, and so are they.

5. I can send you a postcard. Just email me at my username at gmail with your address and a link to this post.

6. Portabello Mushroom Pizza

Ingredients:
Portabello mushroom caps
Pizza or spaghetti sauce
Little bit of olive oil
Your choice of pizza toppings (including cheese)

1. Preheat oven or toaster oven to 350F.
2. Drizzle the mushroom caps, gill-side up, with a bit of olive oil and bake for 12 minutes at 350F.
3. Add sauce and toppings, bake for another 4-5 minutes.

Easy and tasty! I've often eaten a couple of these along with a side of carrots and hummus as dinner or lunch.

10. Done and thank you. Happy Holidays!

6. Not healthy by any stretch, but one of my favorites:

Rosemary Cream Sauce:

1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary leaves

2 tablespoons butter

2 cups heavy cream

1/2 cup seasoned stock

In a large skillet, saute the rosemary in butter until fragrant. Add cream and stock and bring to a simmer; heat through and let the flavors infuse. Cook until smooth and velvety.

I keep the pan just under boiling and stir it until it is velvety. It always takes longer than I think it will, but ti's worth it.

Wow ... that sounds so very yummy!

As for the "seasoned stock" ... will it work with vegetable stock too?

Absolutely! I've used it and I've used chicken stock and it comes out beautiful either way.

Fantastic! I think this will go wonderfully over salmon. Thanks!

If you like mushrooms, I have a great cream sauce recipe that I 'created'. I can email it to you.

I don't know if you'd be interested, but you could always hold online yard sales... either through eBay (which I rarely use to sell) or through Etsy (if you have vintage or handmade items you could sell) or through Livejournal communities :]
I have my shop here (http://de-parture.livejournal.com) and have been selling on livejournal for more than a year now, and have been able to earn some gas money and more (which i used to treat myself to more clothes and food. haha. I'm a bad spender)
If you set up a shop (just a simple one.. nothing too fancy) then you can sell the things you don't need or don't want anymore, and then advertise them in livejournal communities-- there's a list of a bunch of communities in my profile. If you're really interested in selling, let me know and I'll be happy to help you out.
Happy Holidays!

Ah, very cool! :D
Well, I checked your profile, and these are the communities that you ought to join:
[livejournal.com profile] 00realsales00
[livejournal.com profile] buythisusa
[livejournal.com profile] usa_canada_sell
[livejournal.com profile] punkmart (only punk-related items, though. but they have a huge community)
[livejournal.com profile] _wantlists <-- perfect to see what other people are looking for
Hope that helps, and good luck with the selling! I know it helps a lot to hold sales every now and then, because who could resist a great sale? :]

My brother and I both use epoll.com. Each survey you take is worth points, and with those points you can get giftcards to common restaurants/stores.

I use FoodDownUnder (http://www.fooddownunder.com/) for recipe ideas/searches. It's a fantastic resource.

Best of luck in KY. I spent a year there, at Ft. Knox, and while I found the area pretty, I couldn't wait to leave. I did get a kick out of the "Gun-n-Pawn" shop that spray painted "and TAN" on their sign when they bought two tanning beds and stuffed them in their back room. Heh. I went to Bowling Green once and it was much prettier than the area where I was.

1. I will add you! After a (work related) LJ absence, I'm trying to get back into the grove of posting.

3. Us unemployed kids have to stick together! I just finished up a political campaign job and so now I'm looking for a new job myself. I just finished revamping my resume so if you want tips let me know. Otherwise, good vibes on the job front.

i'm from kentucky, too. but not bowling green! just about an hour and a half to two away though :) i live in madisonville... which if you know where fort campbell or hopkinsville is, it's close to there. :) i'm 2O & have a baby on the way & definitely understand how it is NOT working. it sucks! but i'm always looking for new, good friends so i can grant #1 if you want!

and as for wish #3, a job, have you checked monster.com? or tried grocery stores like kroger, walmart, kmart, target (and i forgot what other stores are in bowling green)? maybe houchens? or some stores in the mall.. like claires, petsmart (if there's one there), umm tj maxx!! old navy... :) and the list goes on. i mean i'm sure you've probably tried some of them, but it never hurts to go to other stores. maybe if you have a music store around there, like sam goody or something? just a suggestion! a lot of places you can even apply online!!

and #10 -- got that one too! this is going to be a really good christmas for me. money-wise, not so much... but i'm re-bonding with old family & have already had one great christmas with my boyfriends family! :)

baby's due february 18th! but i have been in the hospital so much i'll probably go before then! hopefully i make it to my baby shower, lol, which is january 17th! :p

and i'm glad my comments made you smile! i'm approving you to join the community now & gimme just a minute after i post this, & i'll add you back. :)

i can't WAIT to go back to work... i was working for food giant & just up and quit because i got pissed off one day & was frustrated & 5 months pregnant & having complications, so i just walked out. i regret it now because i gotta find yet ANOTHER job & my job was really easy (office assistant), but still. :-/ oh well i guess! i still gotta nother month and a half.. to two... to 3 months before i go back to work anyway. depends on when i decide to go back :p and if financials can handle me not going back for a while, then my boyfriend doesn't want me to. we'll see though!
