[identity profile] sleepingphobia.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] holidaywishes
Hello! I'm Ana, I'm 27 and from Brazil. It's the second time I'm participating in this community, and I gotta say I was looking forward to it with great anxiety! :) Last time was such a great experience, I'm hoping this year will be as much fun! :)

Well, here's my list:

1. Help me build a drawdio. I would love to build one, but since I know virtually nothing about electronics, I sense that I'll give up too easily unless someone coaches me. I think I'll buy the PCB from the website (since making one sounded too much for me), and I need someone to occasionally assure me I'm buying the right parts and not doing something completely wrong. It would mean a lot to me to build one myself, and it would be really useful for me too!

2. Cheer me up. Send me a random e-mail, comment or any message wishing a good day, or just saying something nice. I'm having hard emotional time lately, and I'd appreciate random kind messages to remind that there are still nice people out there.

3. Point me out to a prize drawing or contest where I can win a tokyoflash watch. If it's not open to international residents, maybe you can volunteer to receive it and send it to me in case I win? Huh? :)

4. LJ friends, of course! I'd love to get to know more people in here!

5. Twitter friends. The only person I know who uses it is my now ex-boyfriend, which explains why I have a friendless account waiting for people to add so I can start using what seems to be a very fun website. Just send me an e-mail with your username and I'll add you!

6. Suggest me a new username. Sleepingphobia is too sad, I want something more positive to put me in a new mind-frame. Suggest away!

7. A new blogger layout. I created a new one at wordpress which I loved, but I didn't get along with it so I'd like for my blogger template to at least have that kind of color scheme and extra areas. Contact me and I can supply you the image and links - it's really simple, so I'm hoping it won't be a lot of trouble!

8. Translate my purse (image here and here). It bugs me that I got this purse with ideograms on it and I won't use it because I have no idea what they mean...

9. A fish bag like this one. I can't for the life of me sew anything, and I love fished-themed things... if possible, I'd love it in black/white/gray/silver tones so I can wear it with anything. :)

10. Recommend me a book. I'd like to read good literature in English or French over the holidays! Anything, from classics to new stuff - preferably fiction!

That's it! :)
If anyone wishes to contact me, I'm at sleeping*phobia@gmail.com (without the asterisk - I'm following the privacy suggestion from a poster below so google won't get my e-mail...)!
Thanks in advance, and now off to see what I can grant!

Happy holidays everyone!

Your list made me smile.

2. I think the fact that this community even exists is proof enough that there are good people still out there :)

4. I'd love to be pals :)

10. Pay It Forward :)

2. I'll give you the cutest thing I've seen recently. It alaways manages to cheer me up. ^ ^ Here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epUk3T2Kfno

6. I don't know you, so it's hard for me to suggest a new username for you... but I'll give it a try. I really like [livejournal.com profile] sugarhigh, I think it sounds cute, positive and fun. ;3

10. Hm... I have no idea what kind of books you enjoy, but here:
Horror: Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury. A timeless classic!
Fantasy: The Artefacts of Power by Maggie Furey. A great fantasy series where the main characters is a female, and an amazing one at that. :)
And in the Bloody Fantastic genre: Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. :D

Merry Christmas! :)

This website is great for downloads of classic books http://etext.lib.virginia.edu/ebooks/ Seeing as it is nearly Christmas you could always start by reading 'A Christmas Carol' :-)

Awwww, your list is ADORABLE. One of my favorite classic books would be The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. My friend also really enjoyed Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen (I've never read it yet but she reccs it and I adore her, so she's probably right.)
As for modern literature, I love Anne Rice, Poppy Z. Brite, Jim Grimsley and Stephen King.
And well, I dunno if you can find this in English/French because it's a bit difficult to find but L'etranger by Camus is good.
Happy Holidays!!
And here is a nice random *TACKLESQUEEGLOMP* for you. Heh.

#2: Happy Christmas Eve, or happy which-ever-holiday-you-celebrate, be it belated or an early well wish. I know the holidays are especially hard when you're going through a difficult emotional time already because it adds a new element of stress sometimes. I hope you're able to find some time for yourself to simply breathe, relax, and maybe have a nice cup of tea or equally calming drink!
