Dear, everyone.
Dec. 25th, 2008 03:47 pmDear all,
Two years ago, I was astounded by the generosity of the LJ users that I saw on here.
Here are my wishes, they are simple:
Two years ago, I was astounded by the generosity of the LJ users that I saw on here.
Here are my wishes, they are simple:
- Starbucks Card
- I love Starbucks, but as a broke college student, it's not always feasible to go here. A Starbucks Card with any value will do; if you have any old ones lying around, I'll take them off your hands. Also, if the card is unregistered, that would be perfect.. I am planning to keep this and use some of the perks that come with, but would like to keep the card under my name. A newly gifted card would be nice, but a plain old one will do. If you wait until January 3rd, they are also selling PRODUCT RED cards; 5 cents of every purchase will go towards PRODUCT RED.
- Book of Sudoku Puzzles
- Lunch Sack
- I'm trying to save as much money as I can.. a lunch sack would prevent me from that Chinese take-out place behind my dorm. I also think this will force me to eat healthier and avoid the Freshman 15.
- Scarves
- Any warm, knitted scarf will do. I like rugby stripes and fringes.
- Holiday cards
- Books
- NEW: of 1984 by George Orwell, Savage Inequalities by Kozol, The Elements of Style by Strunk & White, The Anthology of French Poetry edited by Angel Flores, The Poetry of Robert Frost
- OLD: Two books of manga, The Iliad

I don't know the exact hue of the colors, but it's a shade of red and grey. If the scarf can look exactly like that, it would be super fantastic. :-)
Also, do you need my postal address? You can email me at the following address, but just remove the spaces between the letters:
c e l l u l a r d i v i s i o n @ g m a i l . c o m
Thanks. I'll take a look at your wishlist.

I took a look at your wishlist and I can probably send you an anthology of Robert Frost's poems. Also, I'm in an LDR and I'm in a similar situation as you -- not many people to talk to about it because few of my friends are in one. If you want to talk, please go ahead and shoot me an email.
Also, can you make sure you send me your LJ username and postal address so that I can send you the book?
Thanks.

Date: 2008-12-26 10:57 pm (UTC)Haha, samurai sudoku. I've never heard of that.
I sent you an email and don't worry about the shipping -- my school post office doesn't hold packages for longer than seven days, but if you send it by the time you say, it will actually be better than if you sent it earlier! :-)
Let me know if you didn't get my email!
Thanks.

Also, I have TONS of tea. There are boxes of tea in my dorm that have been unopened and the only reason is because my roommates don't drink tea as often as I do. I can send you a bunch of tea, including red zinger, earl grey, black and green teas. If you have any preference, please let me know and email me your postal address so I can send it along!
I won't be able to get the tea out to you until after January 7th because that's when I return to college. I will make sure I do :-)
Thanks!

Date: 2009-03-01 01:38 am (UTC)I actually made up a Sudoku book on my computer and printed it out to give to an organization on my campus that was going to mail things to soldiers in Iraq. So there's probably some guy in Iraq jotting numbers down on my printed paper. I can't print the lot out on my current printer, but I can e-mail you the doc if it sounds interesting, had a lot of varieties of Sudoku in it so it wasn't all the same thing.
Also, if you have extra books and don't know what to do with (especially now that the Christmas season is over), try Paperback Swap (http://www.paperbackswap.com/). Post 10 books, you get two free credits to start, and you can start requesting books that people mail you free, using one of your credits each time you do so (2 credits for audio books). When they want one of your books, you mail it to them without charging them anything, and get a credit for it. And the swapping ensues. It's a great way to give people what they want if you don't know anyone nearby who wants it, and you can get your own things in return, so everyone ends up really happy.
