happy holidays! :)
Dec. 7th, 2009 02:27 pmHi there! I'm Journey, a 21-year-old junior political science major in Alabama, but my home state is good ol' Texas. I've watched this community and did the flist meme version in past years, but this is my first time actually posting here. Hopefully it turns out well and I can find some other wishes that I can fill -- I've already been poking around to see. :)
1. Anything on my Amazon wishlist. I have a variety of things! Used is always fine. Besides books, I have things like clothes and shoes -- they don't have to be the exact brand, if they look like what I want (no leather/fur/etc tho, not to be picky, but I'm a vegetarian!), that's good, or if you have unused sample sizes of the make-up I want, that makes me happy too!
2. Donations to my MA trip fund. My girlfriend lives in MA, and I'm going to school in Alabama, which is... obviously not close! And since I'm paying for school pretty much by myself, it's hard to afford plane tickets, but I would be thrilled if I could save enough by early next semester. If you are feeling generous and want to send a little something to help out, my Paypal email is bubblemintpink@gmail.com.
3. Any sort of crafty, funky, cute necklaces, multi-strand with various little vintage-looking charms, things like keys & locks & metal feathers & bows & delicate chains, and so on. Here are a few examples for you. These can be ones you've bought and now want to get rid of, or necklaces made by you! Whatever works best.
4. Jeans for my 17-year-old little sister. She usually wears a US size 4/5, and likes brands like Paris Blues or American Eagle (size 2 there), or other jeans that fit someone who's small but has big hips, run long, and have some stretch. Pre-owned is fine.
5. Care/goodie package. My freshman year, my mom would send packages that had hot chocolate, snacks, and other little goodies. I don't get these anymore! But I really loved them, especially the hot chocolate. Whatever you want to put in there is good (but I'm vegetarian, so no marshmallows, or other more obvious things)! :D
7. Surprise me! You can check my userinfo for interests/hints -- although if it's pink, or looks like something Elle Woods (Legally Blonde) would enjoy, I'm probably guaranteed to like it. :)
8. Good quotes or parables about hope, peace, faith in people/the world, it's the small things that count, etc. Ones that can't be found in obvious places like QuoteGarden, which believe me I have already looted. I really like the old man and the starfish story, for example.
9. Donate to a charity. Some of my favorites are: The ASPCA, The Trevor Project, Amnesty International, and The Innocence Project.
10. Be positive! I know a lot of us are going through difficult times, whatever has caused them, but positivity breeds positivity -- in your life and in the lives of those around you. Be good to others and don't assume the worst of everyone. Try to keep your head up and stay optimistic! It feels better, too. ♥
If you need my mailing address, please send me a PM through LiveJournal, or send me an email at bubblemintpink@gmail.com. Or request it here -- whatever!
If you think you can fulfill one of these, please feel free to link me to your wishlist; I'll be browsing, of course, but want to be sure to try to do something for someone who does the same for me. :)
Much love and happy holidays everyone! ♥
