What's the best thing you ever got from Holiday Wishes? I've been gifted some lovely things over the years, but the best thing I got was my wonderful friend Max. We swapped gifts the first year we took part, became friends the second year, met up in the third year and have been great buddies ever since.

For me, Holiday Wishes has become more than just a fun thing to do. It's become a real and proper part of Christmas, and has made me a kinder and more thoughtful person. So thank you creators, organisers, maintainers and mods. You make my life better and the world a nicer place.

I will again be mostly sending out mix CDs, gotta get my playlist in order...what sounds better to you guys, "I Need a Vacation" (songs about vacation destinations), "So Very Tired" (lullabies and other quiet music for the end of the day), "Mighty Waters" (water-themed songs) or "A Year in the Life" (Songs about how the year has gone by)?

I'm happy to have it coming back. I'll probably be limited to cards this year but I really need the cheer and fun of the community. I've spent the past 6 months in crazy medical nightmare, first with discovering my uterus was full of tumors, then crazy treatments, worry over raising money for surgery, and last month, a hysterectomy. (From which I'm now recovering.)

So it's been a hard year and stressful and the bills are overwhelming which is why I greatly look forward to something fun and this community has always been such a great holiday tradition for me.

Anyway, looking forward to it! :)

I was thinking about skipping it this year as I think I'll be stressed. I was even thinking about not sending Christmas cards to people (but by no means skip Christmas. Hell no. Gonna be baking like mad haha) But now I'm sitting alone at work on a cold Saturday morning and I thought "Holiday Wishes... I should at least have a look right?" and I just feel so much love pouring from the screen despite the fact that it hasn't kicked off yet for this year. I can't skip it! I shall go buy a bunch of stamps and envelopes next week :D

That's how I felt, this year has just gone horrible for me and the last week just made it a hundred times worse. But after a horrible day at work I just felt the urge to come and see when this would start. So now I gotta go buy cards!
