Book recs I can do :) (Hitchhiker fan yey! *g*)

Have you read anything by Terry Pratchett? If not you totally should. To get started, read Good Omens (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0441003257/qid=1103579761/sr=2-1/ref=pd_ka_b_2_1/102-2952275-7219322) by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. It's brilliant :)

Hmm. If you like Jane Eyre then Maybe Jasper Fforde's The Eyre Affair (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0142001805/qid=1103579674/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/102-2952275-7219322?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) would be something for you.

And just because everyone should read it: Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. It's possibly my favourite book ever - the language alone is just amazing. :)

It's a cross between fantasy and a mystery. Thursday Next is a literary detective in SpecOps. The year is 1985 but not our 1985. Britain is still at war with Russian (not URSS) in Crimea for the last 100 years. People are fanatical about books and characters and art. Some people can stop time, Chrono guards (Thursday's dad is one of them). It's whimsy, it's funny, it's deep. I loved it. You can check out Jasper Fforde's site here

If you like Harry Potter, you might like some of Lloyd Alexander's books. They're meant for kids, but I still enjoy them now. You might also try Kenneth Oppel's trilogy about bats (starting with Silverwing).
