The official opening date of the holiday_wishes community for the 2014-2015 holiday season will occur on:

Finally working again, so I may have the ability to participate a bit. As many of you know, I send out mix CDs each year, help me pick a theme for 2014? Possibilities include:

The Fire This Time: Flame-based songs.

Breathe In, Breathe Out: air-based songs.

(These both go with the water and earth themes from previous years.)

A Quiet Hour: Music to listen to before going to sleep.

Any of these sound good? Suggestions?

Kind of along the lines of your Quiet Hour theme, you could make a CD for people with kids to help lull them to sleep. Not just traditional the traditional lullaby, but other soothing songs. Like Tracy Chapman's Fast Car (a friend's kid LOVED this song) or Dixie Chicks Godspeed.

Funny that you mention Fast Car! I watch an almost three year old who is VERY choosy with his music. That sang came on the other day when we were driving around doing errands and he chimes in from the back seat saying "baby love this song." I don't think he's ever heard it before, but he enjoyed it. And yes, he refers to himself as 'baby'.

I don't think I'm familiar with either of those! I do have a rare song that was on an album of Beanie Baby songs (The Star inside the Heart) that is quite lovely.
