[identity profile] leopardwolf.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] holidaywishes
First off I want to extend a rather belated thanks to [livejournal.com profile] squigglybee and [livejournal.com profile] enchantingly for being the kind people they are and for offering some Christmas cheer. I got a bit behind while I was in NY and was lacking access to information I and abilty to ship. Now I'm a little better off financially and I have some random gifts for random people collected here, and I hope to be sending them on their way within the next week or so. Better a little late than never!

My real purpose for posting is concerning a friend of mine. I'm going to be rather vague in my posting of information here on the chance they might happen across this post. Hopefully not. At any rate, I will offer more detailed information about this entire situation to anyone who responds and would be interested in doing what they can to help.

It's not Christmas time anymore. I tried during Christmas time to form a fund raiser for this friend in question who is very ill and who has a very ill mother, and between medical expenses and she being the only one able to work, things are very rough. Have been for a long time. To my surprise and sadness I was met with a lot of negative attitudes when I tried to do a fund raiser during Christmas for them, even when I wanted to try and sell my own artwork or crafts like jewelry that I made to try and raise money for this good cause. To help them pay off all of their medical bills and help them find some sanity in all this madness and grief they're dealing with, with terminal illness.

I'm going to try again. My friend's birthday is this month. Things are still extremely tight for them financially, and it's becoming harder and harder for her to keep herself going because of her own illness and then on top of that having to worry about her terminally ill mother. It's just a very unhappy situation. Every time I see her now she looks so worn out and depressed. Not the same cheerful person I first met all those years ago. And it breaks my heart to see her like this and to worry for her like I do.

I want to try and bring some light through all this darkness.

First and foremost I ask anyone that is in or around New Orleans, Louisiana in the US who would be willing to make the trip to Oschner clinic and donate blood for my friend's mother to PLEASE do so. Sadly because of regulations and lots of red tape and nonsense, the only way she can get free blood is through Oschner. If you live locally enough or if you are willing to make the trip... and are able to donate blood, please contact me for more information and I will tell you anything you need to know about making sure it gets where it needs to go.

Secondly I will point people toward my website:

I make a lot of things and do a lot of varied artwork, and I am always open for commissions of any sorts and new challenges. I have items on my site for sale, but I also have a lot of new stock I haven't been able to update the site with yet. Some more recent creations can be found posted in my journal. I make a lot of my updates there. Examples of my work can also be found in my DevArt Gallery:

I am very open to custom orders, and a good majority of what I create is by custom order. If you can dream it up, I can probably find a way to make it.

Sales I make are being compiled together to be given to my friend as a surprise for her birthday. I'm hoping some way I can raise enough to where it will make some kind of difference. Donations are gladly being accepted too through PayPal at leopardwolf@charter.net if you wish to contribute. Every $1 goes a long way, and I assure you it will be going to help pay for these medical bills that just seem to keep piling up. It's sad when someone who isn't even 23 yet has to be burdened with such things and has to work so hard just to make ends barely meet. She is the kindest and most generous person, and she has done so much for me. I want to be able to give back to her, and help her in a time she needs it most.

If you got this far, thank you for taking the time to read.
