Why is the rum gone?

I have 1 wish, it's a long shot.
It's a stupid wish, not like world peace or feed the children but it's a wish that will pump money back into an economy that needs it and get an old pirate her drunk on.

Does anyone know if the Cane Rum Company in New Orleans will be back up and running? Did any of the rum survive? Does your local liquor store have any? Yes, I've e-mailed them to no avail. The owner/artist will be in Dallas in November for an opening, does anyone in Dallas want to waltz over and ask him for me?
