[identity profile] glitter-man.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] holidaywishes
This is my first year doing this, yay! I'm too broke to mail anything out even if I could buy it, but I will try to grant wishes of the non-monetary variety. (Fics abd fanart, mostly...I'm not a master with icons either.)

Okay, so here is my list:

1. Games for the old NES system. Someone is being nice enough to give me one, but I won't be able to get any games to go with it.

2. Ribbon/Dress Trimming/Buttons (They always come in handy for crafts and things.)

3. Gothic/medieval/pirate stuff

4. Non-perishable food (I know this is an odd one, but if anyone knows how to make hard-tack that would really come in handy.)

5. Funky socks/boxers. All my socks are black boot socks leftover from the navy and full of holes, and I haven't been able to get new ones. (Heh, oh I bet I'm sounding pretty ghetto at the moment.)

6. Anything from Sherlock Holmes, Labyrinth, Homestar Runner or Escaflowne (Fanart, icons, memorabilia.)

7. Organizational/School supplies

8. Christmas cards

9. Philosophy. Write and tell me about your philosophies, your religion, whatever. I love learning about how other people think and how they think life should be lived.

10. Umm...I don't know what else to put...I'd say a sewing machine that actually works.

Edit to add: It's an NES, not Super NES. x_x I'm sorry.

I saved your list to my memories, as I know I have a few SNES games in a box. I'll dig them up and make sure they work before I send them off.

A snippet of philosophy...

I believe that religion and other beliefs should be a personal thing; we all should contemplate what we believe in and constantly renew our viewpoints. I don't believe in organized religion because it tries to make people think in one way and go by strict rules; I believe that we all should find the beliefs that are right for us and no one else has a right to tell us what to believe in. If someone wishes to believe in invisible pink elephants, they have every right to do so; I may not share their belief, but I can't say that they are wrong, either. Their truth is as good as mine and as no human being can understand the world well enough to decipher what the Truths are, I am quite happy with people having their own separate truths... as long as they don't try to brainwash others into thinking their way. Conversation and contemplation is all for good; the only way to learn and develop is to always question our beliefs, and hearing about the way other people think helps in that. However, I do not approve of people trying to force their beliefs on others; that is another reason why I dislike organized religion - it usually seems to be a disease that makes the people infected want to spead it unto others.

Hardtack-

Preheat oven to 400° F
For each cup of flour add 1 tsp. of salt
Mix salt and flour with just enough water to bind.
Roll to 1/2in thickness, cut into squares, and press several holes in each square.
Bake squares 20-25 minutes each side on ungreased cookie sheet.
