Nov. 4th, 2005 06:49 pmOK well my mom told me about this last year and i never joined, but i'll give it a shot this year.
My holiday wish list
1. Icons : i need more icons.. I love the Ottawa Senators, Harry Potter (especially Draco!) and animals... pretty much any animals
2. Christmas Cards.. i never get any except from my grandma, but i love them
3. Christmas ornaments. For the first time this year, i have my own tree, but not
4. Books.. i really love to read, but don't get out to buy any new or used books all that often. Not too picky about types of books, not too big on sci-fi though, pretty much anything i'll give a try though.
5.Mix CD's.. i love music and i listen to pretty much everything (the only thing that comes to mind that i don't like is opera.) I'll listen to anything at least once tho, so if you have anything you really like, let me know.
6.recipes. I'm just learning how to cook, coming out of two years living in college residence, but don't really cook at all, so recipes would be a big help.
7.Postcards/Pictures of places around the world. I love to travel and would love to add pictures of places i've never been (and then will want to go there too) or new views of places i already have been. Or a letter explaining what places look like, i like letters to and have a good imagination.
8. Interesting things to decorate my house with. I have stuff up, but more stuff always makes your house seem a little more like home.
9.The bracelets that support charities. You know, those coloured rubber ones. I have the breast cancer one. I know the ones i have seen include an aqua sexual assault charity bracelet, the yellow livestrong one, the march of dimes has one (and from what i hear it's glow in the dark!), i'm pretty sure Nike has an anti-racism one, and i have been trying to get my hands on a make poverty history one, but everytime i go to my local roots store, they don't have any, and i can't order it online due to not having a credit card.
10. Anything Ottawa Senators. Even clippings with pics from the local newspaper if you're in the states and they happened to play a team near you and there's an article. Jason Spezza is my favourite but i love the whole team.
If you need the address leave me a comment with your email address and i'll email it to you.
Happy Holidays to everyone

How about a Senators icon?
Date: 2005-11-07 01:38 am (UTC)It's not mine, so you'll have to Photobucket it yourself.

Date: 2005-11-29 02:32 am (UTC)Herby Quick Bread
Date: 2005-12-03 04:11 am (UTC)2 tb sugar
1 tb baking powder
1/2 ts thyme
1/2 ts basil
1/2 ts garlic powder (or 3/4 ts garlic salt, and omit other salt)
1/2 ts rosemary
1/2 ts salt
1/2 cup shreaded cheese (I've been using Colby Jack)
1 beaten egg
3/4 cup milk
3/4 cup beer
1/2 cup veggie oil or olive oil <-- very tasty.
Mix together dry ingredients, mix together wet ingredients seperately. Add wet to dry, mix until a sticky dough forms. Stick it in a greased loaf pan.
1 hour, 350 degrees.
I've been using a pale beer for this recipe because it's ass beer that we're trying to get rid of. If you try something dark, let me know how it turns out. And really, most of the flavorings are just suggestions. I originally found the basis for this recipe floating somewhere on the internet. But the herb mixture in it sucked. Nutmeg, thyme and caraway? Blarg. 'Course, the fact that I hate caraway played a large factor. Then I read First Harvests for the nth time and decided to change the recipe to something more like what was described there.
