divabat from last year - I helped set up the Masterlist (before it got too complicated) as well as this community last year. Right now I'm on a study abroad world tour, and am using a different LJ to document the experience - hence the different screenname.
Here be my wishlist - I'll go through everyone else's when I get the chance: (sorted in order of semi-priority)
1. A donation or contribution to Up With People - they are a non-profit organization based in Denver that organizes a global education program, involving travel to 7 countries in 3 regions in about half a year, with internships and classes and community service and performance. (Those of you who remember Up With People from the old days - the mission is similar but the format is quite different. No major 2-hours shows now but still music is a big part!) I'm on one of their programs now (this LJ chronicles my experience) and it is AMAZING. However, they really need a lot of help to make their future semesters a success. Money, enrollment, resources - anything that can really help them would be GREAT.
2. People applying for Up With People - if you're between 18 and 29, enjoy travel, can speak English, and would like to learn about leadership and intercultural communication, and enjoy things that are out of the box, this is for you! Seriously, it is awesome. The fee is US$11800 but there are scholarships available and plenty of resources. Also, you are not bound to anything when you apply; feel free to change your mind. :D
3. Lonely Planet Six Degrees Soundtrack, DVD Volume 1, DVD Volume 2 - I love this show, and my best friend is one of the hosts. If anyone could get this for me, you are my hero.
4. Anything to do with Asha Gill, Darren Hayes, Clay Aiken, Lene Nystrom, Savage Garden, Aqua - because they are THE AWESOME. I might already have something by them so do check with me if you plan on this :)
5. Anything on my grat.uito.us wishlist - there are tags on there that you can filter them by :) Also, this and the Amazon list share stuff but this has stuff from outside Amazon too.
6. Anything on my Amazon wishlist - many of the stuff here is also on the grat.uito.us wishlist, but I didn't add everything in there so this has more in terms of books and CDs and such.
7. Anything to do with faeries, bats, magic, paganism, study abroad, alternative education, zines, creativity, travel, mythology - those are my general interests.
8. Some sort of a flashdrive/MP3 player that has more than 64 MB storage - :P
9. A job that lets me travel, is creative, out of the box, lets me meet interesting people, and is educational on some level - the perfect job would be at Up With People but their next semester only starts July 2006 and I'm not even sure if they have any openings yet! Any other ideas?
10. Recommendations for alternative universities around the world - I'd like to do some sort of creative/media studies in a university somewhere that isn't all about paperwork or exams. Something with a more alternativ style of education. I know there are trillions of unis in the US that let you do something like this (Hampshire, etc) but I'd like to know of options outside the USA. Ideas appreciated!
