It's that time of year again, isn't it?
Nov. 14th, 2005 12:14 amAs was the case last year, some of the things I asked for in my journal were fairly personal, and as such that post is friends-locked. Here's the rest of the list.
I am by no means expecting to receive anything on this list. But if one of you reading this happens to hit the lottery, and feels like spoiling me, leave me a comment with an email address and I'll send you my snail addy.
- A job, doing something I'll enjoy, and not just something I'm good at. $10/hr will pay the bills; $15/hr will give me some breathing room; anything more than that, and I might actually have a shot at paying off my debts. My resume is available in MS Word format here.
Call this 1a: If anyone reading this is at all familiar with the radio industry in the San Francisco Bay Area, I'd love the chance to pick your brain about local broadcasting schools (be they standalones like Columbia, or the programs at Foothill/Ohlone/CSM) and/or other ways of getting into the business. I did a focus group for The Bone last week, which included a tour of the studio, and getting in there just made my heart sing. I Want This, damnit. My broadcasting classes were the only ones I didn't bomb outright when I attempted to go to college 15 years ago, and that dream hasn't died. - Pocket Dragons. This is becoming a higher priority on the list this year, as Real Musgrave has announced that he'll be retiring at the end of 2006. Purple would be a good choice (natch), as would It's Okay to Cry, You Touch My Heart or Kiss Kiss Kiss. I currently own Tea for Two and Rub My Tummy? courtesy of
dandelion_diva, who is incredibly good to me. - Anything from either my Amazon or WishRepublic wishlists, or (if you're really feeling generous) my Sugar Baby list at The Purple Store. (WRT the Amazon list, used is acceptable.)
- A plush Heffalump, and/or Pooh's Heffalump Movie on DVD. (I may be getting older, but I refuse to grow up.)
- Gift certificates for Torrid, Lane Bryant, and/or Avenue.
- A Heroine Addict icon featuring the women of Firefly/Serenity. (If you look at my userpics, I've got one with the women of CSI if you need inspiration. Animated isn't necessary; a collage effect would be fine.)
I am by no means expecting to receive anything on this list. But if one of you reading this happens to hit the lottery, and feels like spoiling me, leave me a comment with an email address and I'll send you my snail addy.
