My Holiday Wishlist
Nov. 16th, 2005 08:23 amIt's about that time again, and I'm really looking forward to Christmas this year. I've seen the wishlist meme going around, and thought I'd do it this year. So here are ten things that I wish for:
1. Anything from my amazon.com wishlist
2. Christmas Cards! I love cards and mail in general, but Christmas cards are the best.
3. Paid time on my lj
4. Mix CDs of anything you like - Broadway tunes, heavy metal, whatever.
5. Donation made to the American Cancer Association or your local blood bank.
6. A gift certificate to Old Navy, Barnes and Noble, or Sears.
7. Cards for my friend Melody. Any kind of card: get well soon, funny cards, Christmas cards. The only thing that I ask is that they be "clean", because her husband and MIL are very conservative and read all the cards that she gets. Send them to me, and I'll send them on to her.
8. Recipes (preferabbly on 3x5 cards, but electronically is good, too) for anything. I'm starting to collect them for when I get out on my own.
9. Icons of any of my interests.
10. A stuffed cat or rabbit.
My contact info is behind the lj-cut

Also, I want to send y'all cards. Leave me an e-mail or a comment.

Date: 2005-11-17 05:55 pm (UTC)Also, cook up three different shapes of noodles (look at the thickness and put the thicker ones in a little before), drain and throw in an absolute ton of Five Brothers Alfredo Sauce. Brown some hamburger and toss it in along with a little bit of sage. I'm drooling just thinking of it.
Homemade tacos, my favourite favourite meal. Brown hamburger. Heat a pan, put a little olive oil on, cook corn tortillas on it and bend them in half right after they come off the pan. Put the meat inside and add sour cream, salsa, cheese, cilantro, onions...
I'll send you some mp3s once they're finished uploading.

Date: 2005-12-02 01:56 am (UTC)Herby Quick Bread
Date: 2005-12-03 04:07 am (UTC)2 tb sugar
1 tb baking powder
1/2 ts thyme
1/2 ts basil
1/2 ts garlic powder (or 3/4 ts garlic salt, and omit other salt)
1/2 ts rosemary
1/2 ts salt
1/2 cup shreaded cheese (I've been using Colby Jack)
1 beaten egg
3/4 cup milk
3/4 cup beer
1/2 cup veggie oil or olive oil <-- very tasty.
Mix together dry ingredients, mix together wet ingredients seperately. Add wet to dry, mix until a sticky dough forms. Stick it in a greased loaf pan.
1 hour, 350 degrees.
I've been using a pale beer for this recipe because it's ass beer that we're trying to get rid of. If you try something dark, let me know how it turns out. And really, most of the flavorings are just suggestions. I originally found the basis for this recipe floating somewhere on the internet. But the herb mixture in it sucked. Nutmeg, thyme and caraway? Blarg. 'Course, the fact that I hate caraway played a large factor. Then I read First Harvests for the nth time and decided to change the recipe to something more like what was described there.
