10 Wishes

1. To have the money to self-publish at least one novel, with all the features and availability of mass marketing (my own 10-pack of ISBNs, bar code - stuff that's needed for places like B&N, Borders, and Amazon to sell it.)
2. A better computer - already taken care of by laerguna and ronjohn (!)
3. A different monitor that doesn't have the wavy lines/overly dark stuff going on. Have you seen my icon of my World of Warcraft character labeled Xaori? *points to the icon used for this post* It's black to me over here. I can barely make out the shine on her forehead since I know that's what it is. Any graphics I make are now made over on KC's computer for this reason.
4. To reach my fundraising goal of $1,000 for St. Baldrick's 0.o
5. Snail mail letters and/or postcards
6. Voice posts or MP3s of people reading a story or singing *ahem* (Yes, I prefer to listen to people rather than talk myself.)
7. To have a tangible copy of the art for my next tattoo. (The artist I asked a couple years ago seems otherwise occupied. :P ) Ok, I'm greedy. I want a digital version, too. Icon goodness and all that jazz.
8. To have a new LJ layout. I have too many other sites to worry about right now to make a custom layout myself. This one's annoying.
9. For World of Warcraft to be compatible with Linux. (I mean fully ported and made available by Blizzard, not hacked.)
10. I want you, yes you, to be more accepting, more forgiving of someone that totally irks the daylights out of you.

For #1- Amazon introduced printing on demand that might work for you. I haven't looked into the details, i just remembered seeing a link about it: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/13685731/103-9327894-5475834

Also, I have no idea if this would work for what you are interested in writing, but if you published in a serial format (eg a chapter a month), you could print your book in a magazine type format- this would be considerably cheeper to do if you are printing it yourself such as at kinkos, and, you can get ISSN numbers for serials for free, unlike the more costly ISBNs for books; you just need one for the serialised 'book' whch you reuse on every 'issue'/chapter. If its successful and makes $$$ you can put that to a more traditional book format. Just an idea- take it or leave it. Good luck any way with your story idea!

Man, I need to get my head out of the sand. I was thinking earlier it'd be so much easier if places like Amazon would publish, not just sell. Thanks for the luck, and for the suggestions! I will definitely look into them. :)

Cool. :) It includes three of my favorite things: panther, raven and a calla lily. Across my shoulder blades, I want to get a black panther (of the leopard variety) laying on her belly. She has blue eyes, black feathered wings that have an iridescence of blues and purples) and in between her front paws is a calla lily - the flower my daughter is named after.

#7 with the tattoo art or #6 with the voice post/mp3s? If it's the voice post/mp3, I don't have anything specific in mind. A letter that's read out loud, a short story or something you've written, a short story someone else has written. I'm not picky as far as genre or topic. Whatever floats the boat of anyone that chooses to make a recording. :)
