Dec. 2nd, 2005 03:43 pmMoney has always been tight around my house. I'm 21 years old and the only good Christmas we had was when I was 9 years old. I've gone many years without presents at all, and that can be hard on a child when they return to school and all the kids ask, "What did you get for Christmas?" It's hard being that young and making up stuff that you got for Christmas just to impress other kids, but moreso, to make yourself feel better. We've been on food stamps and welfare before, and that was really hard. It's hard to be that young knowing that your family is struggling and you can't do a thing about it. I hate that I'm in the same boat as my parents were when they were my age. It honestly makes me feel really bad about...life.
Anyway, I'm really not trying to make anyone feel bad. So please don't think that. Just wanted to share some memories about Christmas with you. :)
1. A letter/card/postcard from your state or hometown.
2. Paid account time on livejournal. WOULD EPSECIALLY LOVE THIS ONE!
3. More LJ friends who actually care about me and comment and can understand where I'm coming from on certain topics and issues.
4. Britney Spears' new CD B IN THE MIX. :x NO LAUGHING!! :p
5. The DVD "Trapped" starring Charlize Theron, Kevin Bacon and Courteny Love. I will take this gently used. It doesn't matter to me. Saw it on TV the other day and fell in love with it.
6. HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Spend time with your family. Give to those who are less fortunate. Make someone's day. Just spread the Christmas cheer.
Now for things that won't happen. lol
6. Extra money. I barely make $400 a month and I have over $300 that goes to bills (student loans, credit cards, etc.) each month. Even something like $5 helps me. It helps me get food for the day.
7. A car. Now I know this won't happen, but we can all wish. I don't even want a new one. I just want something that will get me to work everyday. But of course, I want it to run good. lol
I think that's it. :)
