Mod Post

It's come to my attention that some members are re-submitting wishlists / deleting old ones and resubmitting them again. Please, do not do this. It's unfair to other members. The community is about granting wishes if people are able to, please don't abuse everyone's generosity or be greedy.
I am aware that lists that were posted earlier (in November) are not receiving as much attention as newer posts are, but rather than reposting, go back, find your list, and make certain it has tags so members will be able to find it easier. It is also confusing to members who may have already sent you something to see a repost surfacing again.

Agreed. I have caught some, and rejected the posts, but we can't catch them all on the spot and it's very unfair.

Also, posts that have contained more than 10 wishes are being rejected. As are posts asking for specific information from specific people who's usernames are mentioned -- if you need to contact someone, contact them directly, not as a post in the community.

The newest should be deleted. If the poster decided to delete their old one first, that's their buisness, because the new one should still be deleted.

What do you think about no tolerance? It's okay by me, honestly, but would that be too extreme?

Thanks! :) It's from when the "death eaters" crashed the Harry and the Potters concert at The Witching Hour convention :)

Ahh, I knew that would become an issue eventually. . .it did last year, too.

Yeah, which is why the community is moderated now :) It helps a bit, but with so many posts... it becomes difficult to keep track.

I figured that was why. It's really sad, when you think about it. I mean, it's such a great idea for a community and so many of us have a great time with it. It's sad that a select few choose to be greedy, which destroys the meaning of the community in the first place.

Le sigh.

Fortunately, the mods do a wonderful job! (I'm a little biased, but that's okay ^_^)

i hope there's something obvious Im missing about this, and I feel weird inquiring if I'm not sending a gift to either, so could you take a look:

http://www.livejournal.com/community/holiday_wishes/269411.html

different LJ user names, one has no entries/friends in their lj and was just created 2005-11-06.
both have the same first name and postal address, but the last name is different.

I thought maybe they were sisters- but then I'd epect last name, not first to be the same.

That explains it - didn't realize I was limited in what I could use as a tag. TY

Thanks for being on top of that. As an early November poster, I like the encouragement to look at the older posts. ;) Also, thanks for tagging things - it really helps when digging through older entries. *sends off more music*
