I’m trying to help my extended family (including me!) supplement their income from their hobbies or crafting, so my wishes mostly revolve around this goal.My contact email is  lucyandmoose@hotmail.com .

 

1. Someone to help me redesign my website Lucy & Moose and make it more professional looking
2. A graphic artist to help me make a custom logo. (I have the concept in my head but can’t translate it to actual graphics.)
3. Someone who can help me generate traffic to my site
4. Someone who can help me find ways to actually sell the 100+ handknit/crocheted hats and scarves that I have in stock for my store… OR someone who could help me place the stock in a brick and mortar boutique somewhere… (See my site for examples of some of the hats…)
5. A used, but reliable running vehicle for my sister in Memphis so she can get to work
6. A small house, trailer (or maybe even an apartment) for my mom and stepdad in the Memphis, TN area because their house is falling down around them (something they can either barter for with services (like a housesitting or manager position) or rent that’s reasonable. They are reliable and would need something long-term - meaning they won’t leave you in a lurch after a couple of months
7. People who want to swap monster dollies, so I can build up a collection of them and have fun sharing mine with others
8. Fabric or yarn from folks who want to get rid of their excess stash, especially any 100% wool/felt or fabric with funky, retro or vintage print designs
9. Toy making and doll making patterns or books (used or otherwise…)
10. Cat food & Dog food coupons, gift cards to online petstores/Petsmart, or even bags of the food itself (I rescued seven kittens this past summer and wasn’t able to find homes for them, so we decided to keep them rather than send them to a shelter. They are all spayed, but I am always running out of food…) Flea meds (Frontline, etc…) are also needed.

I am by no means a professional or an expert, but I like making icons and graphics for myself and my friends and think I am decent at it. How are you going about promoting your website right now? Search engines? Through ebay? Word of mouth?

Through ebay, through LJ selling communities, by passing out business cards, and through something that had me surfing lots of blogs.

We also had a booth at a craft fair where we pushed both the site and the hats.

We are doing some stuff with search engines through Homestead's website tools but I haven't gotten too far into it.
