My list....
Dec. 17th, 2005 05:44 pmOk, I finally decided to hop on the bandwagon again this year...I hope it's not too late!
1.) playstation 2 games- anything you have laying around your house that you don't play anymore. (as long as they still play, haha) any kinds of games
2.) picture frames any kind, any size, maybe laying around your house, collecting dust?
3.) art for my walls. Draw me a picture, or paint something, frame it if you want...I need something to cover the walls in my new house!
4.) paid LJ time
5.) books- have any books that you read, and you have no use for anymore? I love to read, but I can't always afford to buy new books, and I don't live close enough to a library anymore. :o(
6.) jewelry - either something you don't wear anymore, or something you make...I love jewelry.
7.) music - anything and everything relating to music as well. Art of a g clef, a painting or picture of a guitar, jewelry displaying anything relating to music....as well as CD or song recommendations (would be great if you could supply the song/album recommendation in link or CD form.)
8.) crazy fun ideas - for kids (ages 1-2) for art projects or games to keep them occupied.
9.) icons - bases or icons of music related things. I'm obsessed with guitars if that helps.
10.) your word - that you'll help someone less fortunate out on christmas.
and I'm cheating and adding
11.) a few moments of your time - to help me reach 1,000 comments in this LJ post
I can be reached at sariah8 at gmail.com if need be.
Have a great rest of the year!!!

It's been something I've done since I was a child, to give to those bell-ringers outside the stores. And my family's been giving to Goodwill a lot this year, stuff we can't possibly use anymore.
Happy Holidays!

Date: 2005-12-19 08:28 pm (UTC)My two girls (16 months and three years) love this; I took a 20-ounce pop bottle, cleaned it out and took off the label. Then I poured in about 8-10 ounces of water and added a few drops of blue food coloring and shook it up to mix. Then I added glitter. Then I put in about 6 ounces or so of baby oil. Then, superglued the lid on, let dry, and gave it to them. They LOVE to watch the oil swirl in the water and separate again, and of course they love glitter. And, since the cap is superglued on, no spills!
Also, I took a sturdy piece of wood (12X12) and glued the soft side of velcro onto it (over the entire top). Then I took some cheap plastic figurines and things and glued the scratchy side of velcro on the bottoms of them so they stick to the board (and don't fall over and frustrate little ones). It's fun for my older one to play with and fun for the younger one to hear that ripping sound.
