Calling For Moderators

This is a call for volunteers!

holiday_wishes is a very high-traffic community from November to January. Because of the nature of the community (which follows a set of rules), the community needs to be set on moderation and each post read carefully and approved by a moderator to make sure that it follows said set of rules.

Duties of a moderator for this community include (but are not limited to):

- Making sure each wishlist abides by the rules (ie. is limited to 10 individual wishes, is not cross-posted, is not re-posted, checking on old posts to make sure they have not been edited to include new items as wishes are granted, etc.)

- Adding tags to wishlists as they are posted (country/location, types of items, online-only wishlists, etc.)

- Rejecting "offer" posts (ie. "I have ____ for anyone who wants one, e-mail me!" This is a wishlist community, not a freecycle community -- please use another community for that)

Currently this community has 3 moderators, and we're looking to bring on 3 more. Please ONLY apply if you have the time to devote to the above. Tagging especially is a big job, as well as checking back-entries for rules violations. Experience in moderating communities is preferred. You must be relatively active on LJ. Note that this is only for this Holiday season -- if you don't want to be a moderator next year, that's perfectly fine :) Just let us know.

is it forbidden to post the list on your own journal? just wanting to make it sure.

No, although if you do post a list on your own journal, you should link to it when posting to the community instead of reposting the entire list so that you don't get duplicate responses.

And we still ask that you follow the community rules, if you're still planning on linking to the community :)
