Nov. 27th, 2006 03:12 pmHi,
I'm a twenty-eight year old woman from Finland. My family never travelled due to my dad's weak health. When I finally felt brave enough and would have had the opportunity to spend a year abroad on my own I made great plans, but suddenly instead of fulfilling them I was slowly learning to walk again. I had to give up a lot of dignity and pride, I gained some other things like endurance and all in all I try not to be bitter. But sometimes I'm envious, like now when my very good friend is currently living out the plans I had, and that envy is something I want to win and wipe out, I don't want to lose energy to it and I want to be able to be happy for my friend. So first on my wishlist is:
1. A fantasy journey. I wish that you would send me some little thing from your country, your home-town, something I might have gotten if I could have travelled there, perhaps a trinket for the tourists, perhaps a shell from the beach, whatever you feel says something about your town and country. And maybe you could write me a little note that would tell something about the thing, about your town, something to make the memento "alive".
2. Something to hug. I had a big stuffed Pikachu as a pain-buddy, to hug tightly when things were difficult. During one bad relapse I accidentally tore its other ear off and even though it's now fixed, it's been put to a shelf because I don't want to totally damage something that got me through so much. So in its place I wish for something to hold if things get bad again.
3. Hugs. Hugs are divine. And so is
4. Tea.
5. A favour. My friend, the one I mentioned, is having the time of her life, but when the Christmas comes she is still far away from home. So my last wish is that you'd send her a holiday greeting, this year she can't have too many of them.
She has her current address in her LJ userinfo, so I think I can give it to you as well as my own if you'll mail me at sinnarn (at) gmail (dot) com. Also, if you think you'd be delighted about weird Finnish candy no one else seems to like or a postcard or the like, give me your address, I'd be happy to send you something that I hope would amuse you.

Get hugs of your own
I'd love to see what kind of chocolate you have in Finland. :) Or anything cool; I don't know much about your country, which sucks because when I was fourteen, my high school hosted a girl from Finland, and we were in a play together. My address is here.

Date: 2006-11-28 08:10 am (UTC)I have to say I've never been compared to tofu before, but you I guess you take what you can with a name that among other things means a barrel in Japanese. ;) (It's much less ridiculous in Finnish, meaning legend or myth. Pity that Japanese is so much more widely spoken...)
