The wiki with FAQ and rules is up, last year's tags have been cleared, and while we're still working on the layout, we should have that ready in time!

This is your official open thread for the week. It's a new thing we're going to do this year to try and reduce the number of off-topic posts sent to the community queue for people who are looking for certain people, certain gifts, or just want to post shout-outs. We'll put one up every few days.

Please, if you need to contact the moderators, comment on a mod post or an open thread, or e-mail wishlist.project(at)gmail(dot)com. Please do not contact the moderators through their personal journals. I repeat, please do not do this. Some people don't mind this, but others do. So please be considerate and use other means of communication first.

I like the "no lj cuts" rule for posting lists. :D

You know what? It makes WAY more sense that way. Yeah, it's really annoying when someone makes a huge long list and doesn't cut it and it's hogging your friends page (in that case, we do advise a lj-cut) but if you're just trying to browse the community via the main page, it's even more of a pain in the ass to have to click on LJ cuts all the time! :)

So I have a question about the 10-item limit. If one of my wishes is 'Books', do I change that to one specific book, or...?

You don't have to specify one particular book if you don't want to, you could specify a genre you're interested in, or an author you like. We'd just prefer it if people didn't post "Books" and then list 5-10 specific titles. Does that help at all? It's a bit of a grey area, admittedly...

If you posted it before yesterday, it would have been rejected because we weren't officially open yet. If it was posted after that, then we usually try to say why it was rejected if it was rejected. And there's not a build up in the queue line yet, so that can't be the problem.

All that to say, try posting it again! I don't see your list here, so it won't be a double posting. We'll let you know if something's wrong. :)
